Lash

What it does

A polyrhythmic gate, lashed by the chord you hold.

Lash is an MPE-driven polyrhythmic step gate. Each held note triggers a gate at its own rate: C2 = 1/4, C3 = 1/8, C4 = 1/16, C5 = 1/32, with chromatic semitones in between mapping to polymeter ratios. Hold a chord and three rhythms layer on top of each other, pressure-weighted across the held voices into one mix.

The MPE keyboard is the interface - per-note pressure mixes that voice in, per-note slide warps its duty cycle, per-note pitch bend shifts its phase. An LFO tool you actually play.

MPE routing

One gate per finger.

Lash proves MPE belongs in audio effects, not just synths. Every gesture maps to a property of the gate without a sub-menu.

Note
Picks the gate's rate. C2 / C3 / C4 / C5 are the octave anchors; chromatic semitones between are polymeter ratios.
Pressure
Mixes this voice's gate into the master output. Held with no pressure = silent; lean in and it blooms.
Slide (Y)
Warps this voice's gate duty cycle. Forward = wider opening; back = tighter chops.
Pitch bend
Phase-shifts this voice's gate independent of the others. Use it to slip a layer off-grid for a moment, then snap back.

Requirements

What it runs on, today.

Quiver plugins are built for MPE controllers and tested in real workflows before they ship. The supported set is deliberately narrow right now so every shipped plugin works the way the page describes. Wider coverage comes as each host gets a full pass.

macOS

Apple Silicon (M1 or newer). Intel Macs and Windows are on the roadmap, not yet supported. VST3 and AU.

Tested in

Ableton Live 12. Bitwig Studio, Reaper, and other MPE-aware VST3 / AU hosts should work but are not yet covered by our test pass.

Logic Pro

Audio effects can't receive MPE in Logic. The host doesn't route per-note expression to effect tracks. We'll lift this note when Apple changes that.

Controllers

Built for Osmose, Push 3, Seaboard, LinnStrument, Continuum. The plugin loads without an MPE controller, but the whole point is the per-finger gesture.

Price

€20. The price is the price.

A real utility at a no-decision price. Undercuts LFO Tool and Kickstart and brings MPE expression into the gate category. No sales, ever; free major-version updates; 14-day no-questions refund.
